What to expect during the delivery of your container?
When you are expecting a shipping container delivery, there are a few things you can do to prepare your site:
- First, ensure the delivery area is clear and without any obstacles. The driver will need room to maneuver the truck and trailer carrying the container, so be sure to leave plenty of space.
-
Delivery dimensions required for offloading are:
20ft Units: 70ft Length by 12ft Width by 13ft Height
40ft Units: 110ft Length by 12ft Width by 14ft Height
-
- Make sure the surface is flat. Shipping containers can be placed directly on solid level ground. If it’s uneven or has a slop, the container can potentially tip over when there’s more load on one side, the cargo doors become stiff to operate and only resetting the unit to level will help this issue.
- Some customers wish to elevate their unit to avoid water pooling issues near the front cargo doors. We recommend using cinder blocks, railroad ties, garden pavers, and/or concrete pillars to set the unit on if this situation applies to you. Any of those options can be found at your local hardware store. Drivers do assist in placing the units on leveling pieces you provide, but do not carry any stock in their trucks.
